So many times we are approached by consumers wanting to know some basic information about refrigerators. In this post, we will answer some of those common questions.
What is the best brand?
Sometimes in life, you really do get what you pay for. This is the case when it comes to refrigerators. Higher end models, which, yes will cost you more, will last longer and perform better throughout your ownership. My personal favorite is a bottom freezer - it provides greater efficiency of space for both the refrigerator and freezer section.
Should you have "routine maintenance"?
Yes, but you can probably do it yourself. The condenser coils should be cleaned and vacuumed.
Also, be sure to clean any spills around the frame (where the door seal comes into contact with the refrigerator). Any liquid that has sugar in it will become sticky and can cause the seal to rip.
What is the best way to move a refrigerator?
If you have to move a refrigerator, the best way is to move it upright. If have to lay it down, then ONLY lay it on it's back and once it is put in place, do not turn it on for two hours.
